About The RecOps Framework
RecOps is an emerging practice within Talent Acquisition focused on optimizing all or part of a recruiting function. At it’s core, RecOps is a practice. More specifically, it’s a continuous improvement practice for the recruiting industry.
Through the book, The Recruiting Operations Accelerator and the Recruiting Optimization Community, we teach a modern system for recruiting leaders to build a world class talent acquisition function. At the foundation of everything is The RecOps Framework.
Implementing The RecOps Framework helps talent acquisition leaders overcome the overwhelm we all feel when trying to keep up with HR tech, develop our team, run projects, balance our stakeholders, fill jobs and maybe (just maybe) squeeze a family vacation in somewhere.
It also allows us to move from Reactive to Proactive. A reactive recruiting function happens when we don’t have an ongoing, always-on, deliberate strategy to control the operational side of what we do.
In short, we lack a systematic way of running our function — so our function runs us!
The problem is, we’ve never been taught how to run a high-performing recruiting function. We’ve been left to our own devices, trying to figure things out by ourselves.
The good news is; however, that there is a solution!
James Colino developed The RecOps Framework over the last 20 years in the trenches as a recruiter, recruiting leader, consultant and recruiting tech founder. It’s been built to work inside any recruiting function, in any industry, anywhere in the world.

James Colino is the author of the book RecOps and the founder of RecOps.org. James has been building/optimizing recruiting products, processes and functions for over 20 years. He held recruiting leadership roles at The Hershey Company, Pfizer, founded/sold two recruiting technology companies (SpanishJobs.com & HireBar Inc.), led the global technology enablement team at Cielo and currently serves as Head of Talent Acquisition at Sheetz Inc., a 750+ c-store chain in the mid-Atlantic region.
